Some documents may require one or more witnesses in addition to notarization. If witnesses are required, you are responsible for providing them unless other arrangements have been made in advance.
What identification is acceptable?
A valid, government-issued photo ID is required for all notarizations. Examples include a driver's license, state-issued ID card, passport, or military ID.
Can you explain legal documents or provide legal advice?
No. As a notary public, I cannot provide legal advice or explain the legal effect of documents.
How far in advance should I schedule an appointment?
Same-day appointments may be available, but advance scheduling is recommended whenever possible.
Must all signers be present?
Yes. Every person whose signature requires notarization must appear in person before the notary at the time of the appointment.
Do documents need to be completed before the appointment?
Documents should be completed before the appointment whenever possible. Blank spaces may prevent a document from being notarized.
